IFS Key Experiences

Most recently, I have been working for an Aerospace and Defence customer who has recently gone Live with Apps 10, I develop solutions and improvements to elements of manufacturing and supply chain, working closely with the business, project team and IT and adhering to their change process.

Previously, I have worked for an IFS Silver Channel and Services Partner, my role as a Technical Consultant incorporated many of my existing skills within IFS such as Customisations (Field, Menus, Event Actions, Database Tasks), Report writing (Crystal, IFS Report Designer, Quick Reports, Power BI), Data Migration and Lobbies. I provided a variety of bespoke solutions to meet customers’ requirements, often asking further questions of the specification in order to make a more robust and sustainable solution for them. In addition to the technical aspect, I also delivered workshops on Manufacturing solutions including MRP, CRP and Master Scheduling along with investigating and resolving numerous User reported issues.

My initial introduction to IFS was back in 2015 when my previous company embarked on their ERP implementation; initially being part of the Business Data Control team and then joining IT as a Business Analyst. During the roll out of IFS to the subsidiary companies, I worked closely with the implementation team, accompanying them on visits to the local office to support development of operational reports (Invoices, Delivery Notes etc.) in the relevant languages and updating them to adhere to the local regulations.

In addition to the development work, I excelled at generating technical documentation to enable successful validation and deployment to the production environment in a heavily regulated industry. I also played a significant role in implementing a new warehousing and labelling solution which allowed for generation of stock labels directly from IFS and oversaw the visualisation and validation of annual stocktake procedures.

Additional Skills and Background

My first role after completing my degree was in a large medical diagnostics company where initially I worked as a Project Coordinator in the manufacturing laboratory and progressed into a Technical Technician role soon after. During the implementation of IFS, a role in Business Data Control was created in 2015 which was my first introduction to IFS and the process of implementing ERP in a multinational business. The project was a step move away from the scientific aspect of my previous roles and the technical aspects provided an insight into a challenging career in which I could apply my logical and detailed approach to; so, when the opportunity arose to take on a Business Analyst role can up, I immediately took it.

Since 2017, I have become highly skilled in PL/SQL and in particular in developing customisations, quick reports, Crystal reports, Lobbies, data migration and QlikView. Existing Excel skills have proved invaluable in managing large datasets often required in implementation projects.
